Vibratory finishing is a surface preparation process
in which the work piece and finish media are subject to a controlled
gyratory vibration. The interaction between the finishing media
and the work piece results in deburring, de scaling, rounding of
corners, blending, and polishing of the work piece.
Process Schematic
In vibratory finishing, a tub containing finishing
media and work pieces is vibrated. The vibratory motion scrubs the
work piece surfaces. The finishing media remove burrs and clean
the work piece. The vibration also causes the work piece and media
to roll and move in a circular motion. This motion moves the work
piece and media over a separation screen.
