Ultrasonic Cleaning is a surface-cleaning process
in which high frequency vibrations create cavitations bubbles in
a cleaning solution to scrub away surface contaminants effectively.
The cleaning solution can be either water or
mild solvent.
Process Characteristics
Uses cavitations bubbles to penetrate
blind holes, and recesses
Uses water or a mild solvent for
cleaning medium
Can clean a wide range of work piece
shapes and sizes
May not require the part
to be disassembled prior to cleaning
Process Schematic
In ultrasonic cleaning, the vibrations caused by the ultrasonic
transducers create cavitations bubbles that implode with great force
(75,000 psi), providing powerful scrubbing action to remove contaminants
on the surface of the part.
